Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his initial trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since that period of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

His defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on court had led some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game chances in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
